Main purpose of job:
To supervise, control and provide audit, accounting, taxation and other business services at a profit, in line with the overall aims of the Audit Division and the firm and to report to the board on the resources required to achieve this.

Roles

Operations

• Chargeable professional work, accountable for 7 ¼ hours per day
• Computer operation including accounts production, alphatax, spreadsheet use and other applications as appropriate
• Complete key areas of audit work as planned and directed by portfolio handler
• Review and control work done by more junior staff on the job
• Be proactive in finding new work and actively seek additional services to be provided to the client and report to portfolio handler or partner
• Continual personal development and improvement of technical skills
• Integration with other departments and all levels of staff
• Maintain and enhance the firm's reputation
• Complete other ad hoc assignment work and administration work as directed

Time and fee management

• Complete tasks within time and cost budgets and preparing costing budgets as directed by portfolio handler
• Drafting bills and fee notes as directed by portfolio handler
• Chargeable time efficiency

People

• Technical on the job training of staff and highlighting staff training requirements
• Being receptive to training provided
• Develop and motivate team
• Attend quarterly mentoring meetings and annual appraisal with mentor and partner
• Efficient delegation and supervision ensuring work is carried out to plan
• Self-development and responsibility for identifying own training needs (including maintenance of CPE records as required)
